PROJECTS

Utilising the collective expertise of internal staff for planning, executing, and delivering packages for clients, our senior management team’s collective experience in possession planning, recruitment, construction & project management, and training is utilised to provide a comprehensive service to our clients.

Getting the right people with the right skill-set, in the right place, at the right time to do their absolute best is at the heart of our
business model and here are just a few projects that Railsafe Group has recently completed:

BEAULIEU PARK

At the end of 2023, we supported one of Anglia’s largest projects with site supervision at Beaulieu Park. Working in partnership with J Murphy & Sons, Beaulieu Park is the first railway station to be built on the Great Eastern Main Line for over a 100-years, alongside new road infrastructure and up to 14,000 new homes. Now in the second phase, construction is taking shape on three platforms with a central loop line, and new tracks to enable stopping services while allowing fast trains to pass through unimpeded. Railsafe Group is thrilled to help deliver such a landmark project that’s been in the making for the last 20 years!

Set to open in 2025, Beaulieu Park Station is designed with sustainability in mind complete within express bus interchange, substantial cycle parking and pedestrian routes to optimise carbon reduction. Creating a brand-new station geared to a fledgling community is a massive undertaking, especially when high footfall is anticipated so going forwards the Rail Safe Group is well placed to advise on how safety and sustainability can go hand in hand.

HARLESDEN

In February 2024, our high-quality delivery, planning and operational team provided a multi-skilled and versatile service to the client of this project. Our COSS at Harlesden was based there for several months, and was integral in the delivery of 11kv route works with mitre joints for the elevated GRP route.

In fact, Paul Wade, Head of Rail at RailSafe Group says, “Kieron has proven to be highly competent in the capacity of COSS, able to clearly demonstrated his superb leadership qualities. During my visit to Harlesden, Kieron delivered a comprehensive COSS briefing and was very composed when liaising with the Signaller to implement a Line Blockage.”

HOVETON & WROXHAM | RELIGHTING

Our extensive relighting project at Hoveton & Wroxham Station in Norfolk, is proving to be successful and productive for RSG. The station is on Greater Anglia’s Bittern Line between Norwich and Sheringham via Cromer and the project comprises of civil engineering works to facilitate a new car park and platform lighting. This includes the installation of turning chambers, underground duct routes and concrete bases for lighting columns. The work at Hoveton & Wroxham has proved particularly challenging from a health and safety perspective due to activities taking place in close proximity to rail customers. Despite these challenges, the project has been managed superbly with Railsafe Group staff often taking time out to converse with inquisitive commuters who have showed a genuine interest in the work being undertaken and were highly appreciative of the efforts involved to update the station. We’d like to commend Mark Wade, Construction Manager, Taylor Garwood, Supervisor and the entire team for some top-notch collaborative working, planning, house-keeping and delivery as we progress towards each project milestone. If you are looking for support on your projects, we are able to provide turnkey solutions, planning, design, delivery and skilled labour. We can assist across multi disciplines.

EAST LONDON | TUNNEL CLEANING

During the East London Line Easter shutdown, Railsafe Group efficiently carried out tunnel deep cleaning works on behalf of Arriva Rail London after securing the project through a stringent tender process. The designated track section, spanning from Shoreditch High Street to Surrey Quays, covered approximately 35,590 square meters and was classified at level D, indicating the presence of excess grease, dirt, and debris. Considering the tight timeframe to deliver the works, meticulous planning was crucial, requiring integration with other contractors working on a major station upgrade at Surrey Quays. Despite facing various challenges, Railsafe Group’s exceptional teams executed the works brilliantly, completing the project slightly ahead of schedule. Adhering to TfL’s stringent cleaning standards, the deep cleaning covered tunnel walls, the surface of the track, pipes, cables, running rails, conductor rail insulators, track equipment, signals, signage, cable routes, and voids under the track, ensuring they were clear of litter, grease, dust, and debris. Specialised HEPA filtered vacuums were employed for thorough cleaning, guaranteeing effective removal of minute particles, in line with TfL’s standards.
